In the environs of the activities developed around the promotion of the educational innovation with Information and Communication Technologies and its integration in the curricular proposals of primary and secondary high schools and following the success of previous editions, the Competence Centre of Minho University organizes, in collaboration with EDUCOM – Portuguese Association of Educational Telematics, the 5th International Conference in Information and Communication Technologies in Education, Challenges 2007, which will take place on May 17th and 18th, 2007.
The conference will abet the meeting of specialists and investigators of assorted areas in Education and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the dynamization of divulgement processes, debate and reflexion about the problematics involved in the conception and development of educational innovation with the new digital technologies.
In the 2007 edition, the activities will be centered around three fundamental focal points:
- Emerging Environments: as a natural consequence of the technological development, new modalities of support for the learning process are constantly emerging; in this dimension we are looking to divulge, debate and analyse such emerging environments for education and formation.
- The Digital and the Curriculum: the relation between digital and curriculum is ecological and not of a simple complementary. Like the interaction of children and youngsters, genuine digital natives, with the diversified technological resources is reflected in the way they think and learn, this section aims to put in perspective the integration of those resources by the light of the current models of learning.
- On-line Assessment: the identification of quality criterias of the available digital resources is decisive for the effectuation of its educative potential; in this point of analyses of the challenges allocated by the ICT the several types, tools, methods and models of assessment are debated.
